For the past six and a half months Resorts World Manila has been running Rogers and Hammerstein's beloved musical production of "The Sound of Music". The lead of Maria Reiner is played by West End super star Joana Ampil, who has played roles such as Kim in "Miss Saigon" and Mary Magdalen in "Jesus Christ Superstar" both on the west end.
The role of Captain Von Trap is played by Audie Gemora, Ariel Rivera, and Jon Joven. All veterans in the Philippine Performing Industry.
I am privileged to be part of the show as a member of the Ensemble playing a Nazi, German, Ball guest, and Wedding guest :) haha! ( I know...stand out roles ;) ) It has truly been an magical and unforgettable journey and I urge you readers to catch the LAST 4 SHOWS of the Sound of Music this coming May 25 (7pm), May 26 (2pm & 7pm), and May 27 CLOSING NIGHT (7pm).
